JOB PURPOSE/ MANDATE

Choice is seeking an innovative, proactive, and energetic individual to join our MarCom Team. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with our team to help in the implementation of internal and external, online and offline communication strategies.

Depending on skill set and work shift, this candidate will assist with communications tasks such as writing and editing, photo and video production and editing, web and social media analytics, social media content, graphic design, media relations, digital asset management, event coordination, and other communications and administrative support tasks as assigned.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The applicants will provide assistance in the following areas. As it is unlikely that a single candidate would possess all of the following talents, individuals with expertise in at least 2 or 3 of these areas and a desire to enhance their skill set are encouraged to apply. 

• Social Media
  • Draft, create and organize social media content to promote Choice blogs, videos and media coverage on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Website and Youtube;
  • Create and coordinate content for social media campaigns and observances;
  • Translating communication materials (Eng - Vie and Vie - Eng);
  • Monitor and research influencers, trending topics and tools;
  • General social media planning, research, reporting and coordination as assigned.
• Writing and Editing

• • Social content;
  • Photo captions;
  • Blogs;
  • Project descriptions;
  • Interviewing;
  • Video/Audio script;
  • After completing training, the applicant may attempt to compose Press releases and media advisories under direct supervisor review.
• Photo, Video and Graphics

• • Edit and format photos and videos for social media and web;
  • Photo, video and audio editing;
  • Photography and videography;
  • Infographics;
  • Gifs, animations and graphics;
• Media Relations

• • Help compile and update media contact lists;
  • Identify and study possibilities to distribute Choice stories to relevant journalists and media sources;
  • Assist with press release/media advisory writing, editing, distribution, and media outreach;
  • Assist with media interview scheduling and coordination;
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating of photo/video shoots.
• Miscellaneous Communications and Administrative Support

• • Event coordination;
  • Maintain filing system of MarCom team, keep it updated;
  • Taking notes during meetings;
  • Create and manage PowerPoint presentations;
  • Work and negotiate with various suppliers; 
  • Purchasing and expense reports;
  • Mail and shipping;
  • General administrative and communications support as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Recent graduates or undergraduate/graduate students in sustainable development, journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, digital filmmaking, digital media, graphic design, or a development-related subject are ideal candidates.
• Good in English is preferred.
